Wet again here in Weston and yet again we were doing a day out to Helidays on the beachlawns and it piddled down non-stop, just like it did last weekend when we went to the kids event. Bloody typical. Got soaked again, although the kids were nice and dry in the buggy.
Dan had been harping on for the last 2 days that he wanted to see the ' hewicopers' on the beach so we decided that if they were any better then we would take them. So of we go this afternoon...
First he decided that the 'copters' went enough and begged us to let him go on the Flight Simulator ( RAF Tornado) Grant of course wanted to go in too to remind himself of the good ole' days so as the age limit was from 3 they let Dan on with Grant. In true Andy from Little Britain style, once the door had shut Dan apparently spent the whole time asking-' I want to get off now, I dont like it !' Still, he did emerge from it with an apprehensive grin. He then loved the Helicopters and even got to see inside an US Black hawk and sit with one of the crew member 'Benson', a really nice American guy who was more than happy to let the kids go inside and have pics taken - A rare thing these days !
All in all I think he enjoyed it.
Back at home soaking wet, we put Will in his walker and he is whizzing around and chasing Dan, much to Dans annoyance !

You've got to hand it to him....
Dan is a star ! He is so funny. Today as the boys arent too well I decided that seeing as Dan hadnt really kept a thing down for 5 days and Will hadnt for 24 hours I would go to the Drs just incase. Anyway, he confirmed Gastroentiritis and should pass hopefully, but gave me 'salt replacemet' sachets as they are slightly dehydrated. So anyway, we are in the waiting room, the Dr running 1.5 hrs behind and Dan pronounces - 'Thats its, Im going home now then!' and headed for the door. The whole waiting room erupted into giggling whilst Dan was still saying ' Come on Mum, home - NOW !'.
Kids of this age sure know how to say the right thing at the right time.
His latest is - 'Go away please - Im busy !' and he said the other on several occassions - ' Oh my goodness'.

3 jobs !
Im knackered. As my first week of work draws to a close I cant belive how incredible tired I am. My brain feels frazzled and is full of things like PAS, Diabetic clinics and waiting times instead of the usual, Thomas the Tank Engine, Dora the Explore and the likes of !
I have sat and worked this out - I am currently working 17 hours a day ! Get up at about 6 everyday, (sometimes earlier) then Im with the boys for approx 9 hours before I go to work for 5 hours before coming homeand catching up on housework/ironing etc for 3 hours finally getting to bed at approx 12 midnight after a cuppa and a natter with Grant for 1 hour then maybe sleep for 1 hours, up for a feed for Will for about 1 hour then sleep for another 4 hours then its usually time to get up and start again ! 3 Jobs, 17 hours working in some way, 4 hours of sleep and the rest getting up with Will. PHEW !!!! No wonder Im knackered. Grant is the same - up at 5, work at 6.30 until 4.30, then boys, then natter, then bed then the same old again !

The Office, Sickness and Guilt !
So yesterday was my first day back to work from Maternity leave after 6 months !
I got up Monday morning and felt sick to the pit of my stomach with nerves would you believe and a real sense of uncertainty. I knew that some procedures and policies had changed since I had left but it freaked me out. By the time I got to work at 3pm I felt a little better and was greeted with lots of hugs and 'welcome back's and then the bad news... EVERYTHING had changed ! All my files packed away in storage, no headset, my chair had walked - ARRRGGGHHH ! I knew the hawks would swipe it all ! I eventually got to grips with the 'new improved' way of the Appts centre today and although I feel like an intruder in some sense I think I'll be ok ! After a week it will be ,sadly , like I never left. Lots of people asking about Juzi too and how Japan was and that they are checking out the blog for him !
Leaving the boys was heartwrenching and I felt lost without them for the first shift. Apparently Dan cried for ages after screaming' I want my mummy' - Thankgod I couldnt hear him or I would have gone to pieces. He wasnt well though yesterday and still not himself today too. Was sick and generally not Dan ! Today was easier and it will get easier and I have no choice but to work unfortunately. We are not that lucky that I could have the choice to be a stay at home mum. I just felt so guilty at leaving them.
Well, other than this both boys are ok, Grant is back to work after having a week off and put a drive in which looks lovely so we are all back to normality- well as normal as we get !

William has a favourite lullaby and onlygoes to sleep if this song is being played or if Im singing it (god help the lad) - 24 by Switchfoot. I think its as I always have this CD playing at some point during the day. Bless him - sure they would be chuffed to know ! Also check out their forthcoming single - Stars - www.switchfoot.com
I like it - much more rockier beat than anything on The Beautiful Letdown album but I still like it -easy to listen to. Its taken from their Nothing Is Sound album out on Sept 13th.
Anyhoo - had to share.
Oh and - I return to work tomorrow from maternity leave - arrrggghhh.

Well tday we went to the Nick Jr Jump Up Live event in Birmingham and OMG did it rain !!!!! It poured down in true British fashion - never the less we had a fun time. Dan really enjoyed riding on Thomas, helping Bob build a wall, he danced with The Wiggles and went to ballet class with Angelina Ballerina which he adored. They even got to wear mouse ears and Dan wanted a pink tutu skirt ! Bless.
Very tired and still shivery due to the rain but a fun day especially as we had free tickets !

6 years ago today ....
We got married !!! WOW - 6 Years eh ? Time has flown by not without the odd bad arguements I have to say. But for the most of it,its been great ! We've had a great day - went out to the countryside around us - mainly Wedmore, Wookey, Cross and Loxton and went strawberry picking which Dan loved.
All in all a great day - cant post a great deal more as Grant is calling me to a fresh glass of vino !!!!

All grown up......
This morning was Dans first day at Nursery school. Bless him - he was very excited. He did so well to and told everyone ' Im Daniel' to which the 2-3 age class said ' Hello Daniel !'. We left him for about 1hr15mins to 'settle' in and he was no trouble whatsoever - my clever boy. Next week he will be going for longer and then by the time I go back to work in 3 weeks he will be there all the morning no trouble !

So just referring to Grant and I ! Same old us - different day. Nothing more to say really - Wedding Anniversary coming up 6 years !!! OMG ! :) So , yep, thats it - both fine and happy :) xxx
Tales of the Duke .......
DANIEL - So Dan is fab !!! So very very funny at the moment. This afternoon he declared out of the blue - Wow, hotdogs my favourite !!! lol He also sings 'Row your boat' complete with actions and doesnt miss a word. Its so cute to watch. Daniel starts Nursery on Tuesday in preparation for my impending doom - returnng to work ! Its a stunning place and I think Dan will love it. He will be going for just 1 morning a week until he settles in and then we will see - pennies allowing for more mornings ! I have to put his name in his clothes ! Awww my baby is growing up too fast :( On a brighter note, I have got tickets for us all to go to Nick Jr Jump Up live tour in Birmingham on 24th July. They have all Dans favourites there - Bob the Builder
Squeaky fornight !
Ok, so its been an age since I last posted - apologies. The tolls and stresses of being a family of 4 !!!
So.....
WILLIAM - What a nightmare this fortnight has been ! Squeaker has turned into Screecher! After continual crying, The so-called Medical Prifessionals decided that Will suffers from a Lactose Intolerance. So, change his milk they told us and go and buy very expensive vacuum bottles that help reduce the air and sugars in the milk ! So off we go like little sheep spending our money. Only, this didnt work ! So, back to the Docotrs only to see another doctor who we had to explain everything too again. This time he said that we have to change his milk AGAIN and to give him Soya milk - no Lactose, No sucrose, No glucose, No Glutton, no nothing I think as it tasted like freshly dug mud from the garden. Also that in 2 weeks he needs to have tests to see what the intolerance is and if that fails then there must be a problem with his gut or bowel. Brilliant !!!!Needless to say that Will did not like this new flavour of milk- but we hoped for some improvement. Oh yeah - what a difference !!! Main one being that he didnt feed for 4 days !!! and had a mammouth 9 hour screaming fit. He hated the milk and on the one occasion he took 3 oz he vomitted it back. So......deja-vous- off to the doctors AGAIN !!! and suprise yet ANOTHER DOCTOR.
This time we had a diagnosis of Severe Infantile Colic- no cure just sit and ride it out. Marvellous !! He then went on to say that he doesnt think there is any intolerances there as Will doesnt have bad skin conditions which is a major sign. So new instructions are to return him to a milk that he was happy on and to wean him asap and it should pass ! What an utter cock-up. In nearly 5 months Will has been on 5 different milks at there advice - is it any wonder his tummy hurts ! Grant and I are taking him for Cranial Osteopathy. Very good procedure in which they manipulate the small bones in the skull to ease pressure that can cause colic etc. Very intersting - link below explains better than I ever could ! Other than this he is nearly sitting, can roll over and coo's away - when he isnt crying ! lol New pic of Will too.
